Liguria

Liguria is a beautiful region in the north of Italy although its cuisine is very different from the usual hearty northern dishes that spring to mind.

With its stunning coastal towns and beaches, Liguria brings back memories of my first bite of a classic Ligurian focaccia (salty, briney and delicious), slurping Impepata di Cozze and experiencing the most incredible octopus and potato salad in Riomaggiore. The bustling food market in Chiavari and the glittering sea in Monterosso.

Liguria is famous for Pesto alla Genovese (basil pesto), Focaccia di Recco (an incredible thin cheesy focaccia) and Salsa di Noci (no-cook nut sauce).
