Umbria

Umbria, known as the โ€˜green heart of Italyโ€™ is a landlocked region neighbouring Tuscany, Marche and Lazio. Itโ€™s famous for many incredible dishes and ingredients such as Porchetta, truffles, Castellucio lentils, game and olive oil.

We spent one month in Umbria volunteering on a farm and helping a family harvest their olives. We went through the whole process of picking the olives to labelling the beautiful bottles of bright green โ€˜Olio Nuovoโ€™ it was an amazing experience and Iโ€™m yet to taste olive oil as good as that 10 years on.
