Umbria, known as the โgreen heart of Italyโ is a landlocked region neighbouring Tuscany, Marche and Lazio. Itโs famous for many incredible dishes and ingredients such as Porchetta, truffles, Castellucio lentils, game and olive oil.
We spent one month in Umbria volunteering on a farm and helping a family harvest their olives. We went through the whole process of picking the olives to labelling the beautiful bottles of bright green โOlio Nuovoโ it was an amazing experience and Iโm yet to taste olive oil as good as that 10 years on.
